A tester screwdriver is a hand-held tool that is used to determine that electricity is flowing through circuitry. This type of tool may also be used to determine which wires in a system are hot, neutral, or grounded. Testers are used to measure the voltage between a line or conductor and the earth or to check the phase relationship between two voltages. A Live Line Tester is a device that draws current from the source under test. This current flows through a resistive chain to earth via an earth lead.
