Acrylic is a transparent plastic material with outstanding strength, stiffness, and optical clarity. Acrylic sheet is easy to fabricate, bond well with adhesives and solvents, and is easy to thermoform. It has superior weathering properties compared to many other transparent plastics.
As a synthetic fabric, acrylic is not something that comes from the natural world. Instead, the acrylic fabric is produced artificially through a synthetic polymer known as acrylonitrile. Acrylonitrile is derived from petroleum or coal-based chemicals and synthesized for acrylic resin pellets.
