Product details
This is a small force sensitive resistor. It has a 0.16 (4 mm) diameter active sensing area. This FSR will vary its resistance depending on how much pressure is being applied to the sensing area. The harder the force, the lower the resistance. When no pressure is being applied to the FSR, its resistance will be larger than 1M, with full pressure applied the resistance will be 2.5k.
Force sensors, are devices that are designed to translate applied mechanical forces, such as tensile and compressive forces, into output signals whose value can be used to reflect the magnitude of the force. The signals may be sent to indicators, controllers, or computers to inform operators or serve as inputs to provide control over machinery and processes. Although strictly speaking force sensors and force transducers differ from each other, the two terms are most commonly used interchangeably.
Two pins extend from the bottom of the sensor with 0.1 pitch making it bread friendly.
These sensors are simple to set up and great for sensing pressure, but they arent incredibly accurate. Use them to sense if its being squeezed, but you may not want to use it as a scale.
