The exposed wire strands are then protected from damage by the screw by the crimp on the cord end terminal‚ resulting in a stronger connection. This bootlace crimp ferrules are made from a soft tin-plated electrolytic copper and have a soft plastic cover to improve the connection and prevent fraying.
